Candy!!!

Today's challenge over at Stamp Something is to do something with candy!!!! yum! I chose to make a treat box, click here for Beate's tutorial.

I chose gumballs and this fun and cheery cutie pie DSP.

This is a super fun box and a lot larger than I expected, (it's from a sheet of 12x12.) It would wonderful to use as a centerpiece at a baby shower with different pink candies in each "side."

The original plan was to use afternoon tea paper with bit o honeys and the bee from bloomin beautiful, but I ate too many of the bit o honeys!! The danger of working with candy!!

I think it was for the best though as I haven't done a lot of bright colors lately and I can't stop using the soft sky!!

Sympathy Card

Quick post today before we head outside to stay cool in the kiddie pool!!

This is a quick card I made for a family friend who recently lost her husband.

Fresh cuts, a new set in the Fall~Winter catty, is a good set to use for sympathy cards. The main image stamp is large and beautiful, so you can finish the card quickly.

I used barely banana, pale plum and whisper white. The ink for the image is river rock. I finally added some white organdy ribbon, Do you think they'll add that to the catty this time??? Fingers crossed!!

Well don't forget to vote and get your triple play entry in over at Stamp Something. Today is the last day for both.

For candy that yummy all you need to do is......

Leave me a comment on this post telling me(or linking to) your "go to" technique, sketch or color combo. The one you use when you really need to "WOW."

That's it. Not bad for 10$ in new stuff!!

Triple Play

It's Friday, the start of another weekend and another Stamp Something Challenge! WooHoo to both!!
This week is a triple challenge. You must create something with 3 layers, 3 embellishments and 3 colors. Tough challenge for a fantastic prize...a chance to be a guest designer on our design team!!!
I chose to do a 2-5-7-10 box. It's a perfect size for a little thank you gift or party favor. I used blush blossom, groovy guava and very vanilla as my 3 colors. I used a hat pin, groovy guava double stitched ribbon and 3 flat back pearls(from the pretties kit) as my 3 embellishments. Then I have a layer of Ginger blossom DSP, groovy guava and vanilla as my 3 layers.
I stamped the blush blossom layer with the stem image from embrace life. I then colored in the main image with aquapainters. I rounded the edges with my corner rounder and sponged with groovy guava ink for some softness. The sentiment is from short & sweet. The scallop edge was also done with my corner rounder.
So pop on over to Stamp Something to check out the challenge, see the fabulous DT creations and vote(with a chance of mystery blog candy) for your favorite dazzling semifinalist.

Workshop prep...

Hope everyone is having a fantastic summer so far!! When a mom at my daughter's preschool told me summers are busier than the school year, I didn't believe her. But, boy was she right!!! We've been straight out since graduation. Having tons of fun but super busy!!

I have a workshop Friday, so I had to clear some time to get ready. This workshop is for someone I haven't met before. I find that makes deciding on projects a lot trickier.

I decided on my trusty one of a kind set. And I finally opened my build a brads to do the center of the flower. Those are so fun!! The flower is colored(quickly since I wasn't sure what I was doing) with pretty in pink and rose red markers, cut out and then adhered with dimensionals. Not sure if this is the final project I'll be demonstrating.

Be sure to check out Stamp Something for a chance to be a guest designer!!

Dazzle us!!!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!!

Wishing everyone a fun and safe holiday filled with fireworks and cookouts!!

I am currently visiting my firecracker of a niece, who came nearly 6 weeks early to celebrate the fourth with us.

This is my sample for a very special week over at Stamp Something. This week we're asking you to "dazzle us" with glitter, sparkle and shimmer for a chance for you to be a guest designer on our team!! WooHoo, how fun is that!! See Stamp Something for all the details!!

I used the color combo of basic gray, whisper white, rose red and regal rose for this card. I just bought this birds and swirls CB folder with some b-day $$ and had to use it!! I thought the vine from SU's pretty amazing~soon to be on the dormant list:(~ was a great match!! I stamped the flower in rose red on the ww CS. I then inked the flower in regal rose, did the rock n roll technique with rose red, stamped and cut out the flower. I then stamped it again, once in regal rose and once in rose red. I used only the center portion from these two images. All are on dimensionals. I then added some crystal effects and tons of dazzling diamonds. Finally I added a felt flower and a rhinestone brad from the pretties kit. I used 5/8" rose grosgrain as a finishing touch!

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT dazzling samples at Stamp Something, and link up for a chance to join our team!!!

Baby Invites......

What a busy week!! Happy July to everyone!!! I just saw some sneak peeks from Stampin' Up!'s new catalog and all I can say is WOW!!!!! After I got caught up on all the SU announcements. I received the final things I needed to complete the shower invites for my sister's baby shower.

Like my SIL's invites, I took inspiration from the baby bedding. The bedding is piink and ivory and has a tropical swirl to it.

My sister likes simple. So I used my cuttlebug swirl folder on the very vanilla. I topped that with pink tafetta ribbon. I used by nesties for the sahara sand rectangle. I then stamped "baby" from AYC(retired) in sahara sand on vanilla. This layer is on dimensionals.

The shower info is on the back. I used the cute pregnant lady from She's all that from the occasions mini. I typed all the details(covered with vanilla for the photo.)

OK it's about to thunder and lightning(hence the dark photos) so I'm getting off the computer!!
