Clean and Simple

Happy Saturday or as we know it here day 2 1/2 without power! Thank goodness for generators!!!! Today the divas challenge you to....go the opposite from last week's challenge and clean things up a bit on your creations! What does that mean? You can make a nice CAS style card (meaning 'clean & simple' style), or make sure you have clean edges and paper for your creation. Please interpret this how you'd like!
CAS cards are ALWAYS tricky for me, I just want to throw a flower or 10 on there!!!! But I took the challenge and kept it clean. Here's what I came up with. I'm just in love with this sweet whimsie doodle image and was so excited to use it for this challenge. Whimsie doodle is our sponsor for the week and our lucky winner will receive a 10$ shopping spree woo hoo!

I used the scraps on my desk from the card the other day and added a piece of ribbon. I ran the white CS thru my CB and that's it!! Clean and simple! Check out the rest of the divas too!!

Want to become a diva?????? Vicki's looking for a new DT for the spring/summer click HERE for details!!

Get well soon

Good morning!
What a raw rainy day we are having, but I'll take it over snow!!! I'm soo ready for spring!
My husband's uncle is in the hospital, so I wanted to make a get well card for him. I think he likes to fish, so I went with this Magnolia image. I made an easel card, which are so fun and easy. The pictures are a little off since it's so yucky out there today. I used assorted basic grey papers. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps. I embellished with manly embellies...eyelets, brads, buttons, and twine. Well we have another vacation week playdate to get ready for, so I'll visit you all tomorrow:)

Baby Shower

Day two of February Vacation and so far so good! Snow is on the way this afternoon for the rest of the week, so we'll see how that goes! Luckily we planned our out of town playdate for yesterday.
I went to a baby shower on Sunday. This is the card I made for the mom-to-be. They are not finding out what they are having so I went with green and yellow. I used my go-to baby set, buggies and booties from SU. The papers are K & Company and a scrap of SU I had on my desk from a card last week. I added lots of pearls and flowers, some ribbon and a super cute charm. The sentiment is from SU as well.

A whimsical saturday spotlight

Happy Saturday Afternoon!! I just finished a very busy day at work and am so excited to be home!!! I'm also excited about this week's Saturday Spotlight challenge! The divas would.....
like to challenge you to do the Mess Around. Make your creation "messy" by distressing with ink, tearing edges, wrinkling card stock, etc.
I absolutely love the distressed look and this week's sponsor, whimsy stamps!! So this was a fun challenge for me! I chose one of Whimsy's newest images, Water Lily. I just think she's lovely. I also used the sentiment from Whimsy's newest sentiment set. The papers are walk in the park from SU. And I distressed the heck out of all my edges:) I added stickles to her wings and the water drops for a little shimmer. Finally I added some pearls and a charm.
Check out the rest of the diva's messy creations!!!

A touch of spring.....

We are looking for a touch of spring over on the Stamp Something blog this week. The weather here is not cooperating at all!! We had snow squalls this morning, but we'll see what the afternoon brings. Our sponsor for the week is Whiff of Joy, our random winner gets her pick of one new city girl! So Fun!!!!
I chose to use my forst Whiff of Joy image, Melinda blowing hearts, for this challenge. I used Basic grey Lilykate papers for the background and to paper piece her shirt and headband. I was hoping for a yellow shirt but I just don't have the right yellow copic(yet.) The green paper is from SU. I love the spring feel of this card and I'm putting it newar my window hoping it will bring spring here quickly!!!! I planted lots of new bulbs in the fall and can not wait to see how they do!

Get well soon

Hi all! Well it seems like everyone is getting sick lately, so for my Lindsay Stamp Stuff project this week I decided to make a "get well" card. You can never have enough and Lindsay's new set was perfect for the occasion!!! It's called bird on a branch and it's just lovely! I used the branch image with flowers that matched my basic grey papers. Then paper pieced the little birdhouse with cute little birdies. Obviously I used my Martha Stewart punch because I think I'm addicted to it LOL!! I haven't made a card without it since I brought it home!!! The edges were made from the scrap left behind by my SU corner punch. I hung the birdhouse with some linen thread and added a charm, a few buttons and some twiny ribbon. The sentiment is a new release from Whimsy Stamps (CLICK HERE FOR THE NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP) The other girls have been crafting up a storm so be sure to check them out!!!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day. We were busy all weekend but were able to sneak in a dinner for two last night.
This week I am very excited to share some sneak peeks with you for Whimsy's Mythical Collection!!! We're having a blog hop on Wednesday for the release of 4 new images and 3 new sentiment sets! And they are fabulous!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to give you a little peek at the mermaid Katie Sowa designed as well as a sentiment created by our own Ann, Raindrop Echo! I added some spica gel pen highlights to her hair as well as stickles and glitter to her tail so she is super sparkly! I couldn't decide which papers to use, until I found these SU scraps. I had just enough for the card and thought they kind of looked like sea plants.

Dental Floss

That's right I used dental floss on my card today! And it's tutti fruity, so the card smells pretty too! For this week's Saturday spotlight.... The Spotlight Divas would like to challenge you to use a household item on your creation...but NOT a craft item! Use safety pins, dryer sheets, household cleaners, paper clips for doing a technique or as an embellishment.
I used the floss to tie on my charm and then added a few more pieces as an accent. Our sponsor this week is Victoria Case, so I used one of my favorite images from her. The papers are bittersweet from Basic grey. I fancied card with primas, pearls and a large grommet. Here's a link to the rest of the divas, so you can see how crafty they were this week!!

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Box

Good Morning!!! Hope it's a great one so far! I'm still trying to organize my day. So much to do since we stayed put yesterday during the snow. Which was really nothing, they said we'd get 8in, we didn't even get 1!! Boy would I love that job, you can be wrong 90% of time and not get fired!!! But then when would I get to stamp???
I have a little gift box to share with you today. Normally I avoid 3-d projects as much as I can, bit this one seemed easy, so I gave it a try. I used the template from LSS. Now if you have one of those fancy cutting machines, I think it will cut it out for you. But I just printed it out,
and cut most of it with my table cutter. The 4 small angled cuts, I did with my paper snips. I then used this fun new edge punch from SU and a little sticky strip! And voila, a box! I added papers from basic grey along with SU ribbon and prima flowers. The super cute cherries are from Lindsay.(You can check out the rest of the team's work HERE.) The cherries and upper leaf are "doubled up" with another image and a dimensionsal.
I added a little heart charm as well. Need heart charms??????? Head on over to Whimsy Stamps , where they have a new line of charms and paper flowers at fabulous prices!!!

Belles and Whistles Guest DT

Monday, Monday!!! We had a crazy weekend, so I was actually looking forward to today to rest up a bit! Two kids birthday parties and a 3 hour baby shower can really wear ya out!!!!
I just got my batch of Belles and Whistles guest DT images and could not wait to ink them up!! I chose to use kitty love first mainly because I opened it first!!! I colored her with copics and used a feather blending technique on her hat! I found the tutorial at Copic creations and decided to start small!!! I used YR20 and V12. It's a really fun and easy technique and I think I may be ready to try something a little bigger next time! The papers are basic grey and I used the sketch from Roses on paper challenge blog.
I was at the store the other day and decided to get myself a little treat! I chose the branch punch from Martha Stewart! I just love it! I'm sure you'll be seeing it a lot!!! I'm not sure where the lace is from, I got it from a little goodie bag I won at a challenge. The sentiment is Whimsy Stamps.

Teeny TIny

Happy Saturday!!! We have another fun filled day today. We're headed to a birthday party later on for a very special little lady! But first I wanted to share my Saturday spotlight creation with you. This week....The Spotlight Divas would like to challenge you to go the opposite from last week's challenge and think "teeny tiny" when making your creation this week!! ;) Please feel free to interpret this as you see fit!!

When I first heard the challenge, all I could think of was the story I used to hear as a little girl called the "teeny tiny woman" Any one heard of it???? It was one of my favs, just a little scary!!! So I wanted to do something on that theme but I needed to make a baby shower card for a shower tomorrow, so I went that route instead.
What could be a cuter teeny tiny than a baby!! The shower is for a long time friend (almost 20 years I can't believe it!!!) who is pregnant with her first little boy!! I am very excited for her!! And she even asked me to help her register, so that was a fun afternoon too!!!
I chose my favorite image for baby cards from SU's buggies and booties. I also used some of my favorite papers, Parisian breeze. I added some teeny tiny feet and teeny tiny pearls to complete it. And the sentiment is from teeny tiny wishes!
Be sure to check out the rest of the Divas.
