Summer in Winter

I hope this week's Stamp Something Challenge brings some sun and warmth this week!! We are stamping projects this week that remind us of summer. The challenge is sponsored by Pink Gem Designs so head on over for your chance to win a free stamp and to see the DT creations.
I found this summery designer paper from K & Company at my LSS. I paired it with kiwi kiss and barely banana. The image is SU from cheers to you. And the clip was a sweet gift from my Friend Jo. I colored in the summery beverage with my copics.

Valentine Challenge Card

Well I hope everyone that joined us for the Whimsy Wednesday release party had as much fun as I did. Congrats to all the winners and hope to see you all again for the next Whimsy Wednesday. This card I did for this week's cute card Thursday challenge which is sponsored by Whimsy Stamps!!! I used the sketch from the double dutch challenge blog. The theme is Valentine's which is perfect since I need to get moving on those. I used my whimsy owl along with some candy lane DSP. I also used a bunch of hodge podge hardware pieces and some red riding hood ribbon. I colored the owl with my copics.

Whimsy Recipe, birthday valentine's and sketch Challenges!!

Hi All

I've started a challenge over on PCP, you can win free whimsy stamps just for playing along. It is open until 1pm ET Thurs 1/29, just post on the whimsy forum for your chance to win. The challenge is a recipe challenge for 1 color + any # of neutrals(here celery + brown and white). Two embellishments(choc. grosgrain ribbon +choc. felt flower). And 8 layers including the base layer. I used my felt flower as a layer and counted my top notes 1/2 pieces as 2 layers total, so there's 8. The paper is SU cutie pie, retired. The sentiment is whimsy as well as the turtle. There are 2 other challenges so be sure to check them out:) Hope to see you there.
ETA: Hello again. Things are in full swing on Whimsy Wednesday. Here's my 2nd card of the night. I made it for Jeanette's sketch challenge and as I was posting realized it fit Denise's valentine challenge as well!! So now anything I'm able to stamp tonight is just for fun!! Hubby's being super fantastic with the girls so I can play!! This is the ski slope paper from SU along with real red cardstock. The hearts are from the SU punch and new set love you much. The :love" sentiment is from an old SU mini set called "love is in the air." I colored the owl with my copics then sponged a baja breeze background. OK back to PCP:)

This card follows the sketch from Friday Sketchers and the theme of "love is in the air" is from a spoonful of sugar challenge blog. I used my whimsy frog image and colored him in with some copics. The sentiment, with love, is from whimsy as well. The heart are stamped from the new SU set, love you much then punched out with the new SU heart punch. I also added some stickles to the hearts. Sugar Bowl Challenge #2

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekends. We just got back from running errands and a had a little while to play with my new Copics. So I decided to color this sugar nellie image which I received from super sweet Tracey(stitchinwitch). THANK YOU so much Tracey, I love them and now I can play in the sugar bowl challenge!!! She was super fun to color and I used her for this week's Sugar Bowl Challenge. This week's challenge was to use 3 pieces of designer paper(2 from SU's hostess kit, 1 from pink pirouette prints) and 3 embellishments (satin ribbon, dew drops, felt flowers and, of course, a sugar nellie image. The colors of the regular cardstock are pink pirouette, kiwi kiss and whisper white. I sponged the background behind the image with baja breeze and cut t out using my circle nesties. I've been tagged by Denise, so I'll include that along with my nest post. Finally, make sure to clear some time Wednesday night for Whimsy Wednesday over on Paper Craft Planet for stamping, freebies and fun!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Something about a recipe

It's Friday, so it's another Stamp Something challenge. This week's challenge features recipes. It can be a food recipe, a recipe for a fun day or whatever. Well I don't really know any food recipes, well any worth sharing anyhow(trust me on this one.) So I decided to make a wedding card. It's based on the Harry Conick Jr. song, "recipe for love" which is the song my hubby and I cut our cake to at our wedding. S0 I thought it worked.
The image is from an old SU set, Happily ever after. I colored the roses in with my copics. The papers are from SU's new candy lane package. I sponged close to cocoa around the edges, added some dew drops and tied some red riding hood ribbon. And after redoing my CB sandwich stack and adding a tan mat, I was easily able to add the scribble swirls from SU. Thanks Denise!! The sentiment is handwritten. Be sure to check out the rest of the team's recipe interpretations, they're awesome!!!
