Sopmething Red, White and blue.....
Another fantastic challenge today over at Stamp Something. Today, to get us ready for the 4th, Melissa is having us stamp something(not a card) red, white and blue.
That's what great about these challenges, they challenge you do create something you wouldn't have on your own, well for me anyway. The last time I did a red, white and blue challenge I used regal rose, soft sky and so saffron.
This time I said a little closer to the challenge with real red, brilliant blue and whisper white.
The DSP is from the prinnts pack. I cut it with my oval nesties and put each layer on the cover on dimensionals.
The real red layer, I scalloped with my corner rounder. Finally I used red striped ribbon.
The mailbox is from Target.
Check out the great stuff the DT created, great ideas to get you ready for the 4th.

Summer Sugar Nellie
This little guy is one of 2 sugar nellie images I received in an image swap. I thought since it's now officially summer, this one would be perfect!!
I colored him in using reinkers(soft sky, blue bayou and creamy caramel). I then used an older SU set, sparkling summer, for the background on the soft sky layer and the beach ball, which is also on a dimensional and has crystal effects and dazz. diamonds.
I used my cuttlebug on the kraft layer for the circles and edging.
The sentiment is from one of a kind.
Finally I did a bit of doodling around the edge.
Be sure to check out Katharina's blog, it's amazing:)

Sketch Something #2
This is my sample of sketching something #2.
It's a welcome baby card for my new niece, Cora. I used the stork from the retired SU set, buggies and booties (I think if I only had one baby set, this would be it..I just love it!!) I colored the stork with my watercolor crayons and an aquapainter. I took a few liberties with colors which normally wouldn't be a big deal, but my SIL studies birds for a living. I'm sure she's seen a stork with apricot legs and a baby in it's beak!!!:)
I used sage shadow, close to cocoa and vanilla as the color combo. It was on SCS a few weeks ago and I though it was beautiful. I rounded the corners of all the layers to make it a little "girlier." And finished it off with some chocolate chip twill.
The sentiment is from Fancy FP, it was out and is so pretty, so I had too!!! I also used my swiss dots CB folder on the larger vanilla layer. And sponged the smaller vanilla layer with sage shadow.
Hope to see you over at stamp something, as always there is some super blog candy up for grabs!!

Some HUGE news and a Graduation!!
I can't believe my little one is graduating from preschool today!! It snuck up on me a bit so I was a little limited in gift choices for her teachers. So I decided to make altered clipboards.
I used DSP and die cuts from SU's creative license SSK, a hostess kit from the FW 2007 catty. I saw it used on a school page on a blog somewhere and thought it was a great idea. And I had all the materials on hand. I covered the kids' picture, but boy are they a bunch of cuties!! It is from a class trip to the farm where we picked pumkins and apples. The pumpkins and hay in the photo look great with the pumpkin pie mat.
I used retired whimsical alphabet for the letters. I added ribbon to the clip and now I think I may add more!!
I made simple 3x3 notcard to go with them, but they are packaged already ooops!
Also, today's the last day to stamp something monochromatic, so be sure to join in the challenge for some blog candy!!

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge
Well I had a chance to play since I didn't need to water the plants so I chose to do Beate's weekend sketch. I ended up flipping it around to make it work with the gorgeous hydrangea from bloomin beautiful. I also used the afternoon tea paper and chocolate chip twill from the occasions mini to finish out the card.
I added the sentiment from fancy flexible phrases retired SU. That is one set I'm happy I bought before it retired, I love it!!!
I also used my nesties and swiss dots CB folder. The main image is raised on dimensionals.

Stamp Something with one color...
So for my color I chose purple, specifically amethyst and eggplant from SU and for my neutral I stuck with whisper white. I ran the amethyst layer through my CB with my rectangle nestability to get the scalloped edge.(Wouldn't it be great if nestabilities were in the next SU idea book on Aug. 11, a girl can dream...)
I didn't really have a choice on the neutral once I decided to use this adorable hippo from Gina K because I received this image from a blogging friend, so all I had to do was color her in with my watercolor crayons.
I placed the balloons(colored with markers) on dimensionals and added silver cord(SU) for the strings. I gave the balloons and the hippo's feet a liitle something extra by adding some sparkle.
Finally I added a little doodle with my black marker and a few dew drops.
Now it's your turn pick a color and have fun!!! Be sure to link your creation to Stamp something so you can be entered to win some fab blog candy!!

Shower thank you
Hope everyone had a great weekend!! It was super hot here!! Here's a quick post of the tank you notes I did for my SIL's baby shower. I think they actually qualify for Stamp Something's wild challenge too!!!
I used a bunch of my new fun toys...my nestabilities and my swiss dots cuttlebug folder, everything else is SU. I stayed with the guava, blush, river rock combo from the invites.
This is a great layout for making a bunch of quick cards and can be used with such a variety of stamps too.
