Belles and Whistles DT Call

Good morning.  What a chilly day we are having today!  Perfect for cocoa and stamping!!  My daughter wanted me to build a fire and for I while, I thought I might!!  The sun has helped warm things up and it's really just a gorgeous day out there.
I have my entry the Belles n Whistles DT call to share with you today.  When I returned from the weekend I happened across the call and found a bit of time to create something for it!  I was very excited as I love these images and could just spend hours coloring away.  There is so much gorgeous detail in each image too for even more fun!!  It would be soo fabulous to use them each week!!
I chose to use this sisters image as it's one of my favs.  I paired it with some Wisteria papers and neutral colored primas.  I stitched and distressed the edges for a soft vintage feel.  I also added some ultra fine flower soft for the grass for added texture and dimension.  And finally I tied on a little dragonfly as no summer day is complete without one.
All my other BnW creations can be found HERE

Karen's Doodles #10

Wow what a weekend!!!  Although I had a fabulous time in Maine, it feels good to be home!!  I met Lindsay from Lindsay's stamp stuff while in Maine and we hit the mother load of deals at some craft stores!!!  I got a TON of cuttlebug folders for 2.00$ and so yummy papers!  And some flocking too, which I'm very excited to use!!!
Now onto today's card!  It's a birthday challenge this week at Karen's Doodles US challenge!!  Which is great because I have a lot of birthdays this month!!!  I used a new image from Karen's Doodles called Fisher dad and daughter!  There is also a dad/son image and  you can layer them if you need more kids!
I used some new papers from gcd which are super shimmery.  I went for the masculine embellies of twine, eyelets and buttons.  I made the image nice and big so it was the focal point of the card.  I find that works well on masculine cards so I don't have room for flowers LOL!

Birthday Celebration!!!!!

HI everyone!!!  Well it's May and for me that means birthdays!!!  My daughter just had her 6th birthday this week and we have a lot more before the month is over!  And it is Stamp Something's 2nd birthday as well!!!!

I just want to take a bit of time out to thank all of you that play along over at Stamp Something!! When Denise and I started the blog 2 years ago, we had no idea how much fun we'd have and how many fabulous people we'd meet!!!  So big hugs to all of you and hope to see you playing along for years to come!!!

We have a very appropriate challenge this week...birthday somethings!!!  Perfect for me as I need a ton of birthday cards this month.  Our sponsor is one of our long time supporters at Stamp Something, Whiff of Joy.  Katharina and her team have been with us since the beginning, so we are so happy to have them as a part of our month long celebration!!!

I used an older WOJ image, Willow with cookies, for this one.  The papers are from Bella Blue by SU.  I did some stamping and distressing and added a fun pearl swirl I found at the stamping convention.  She colored with copics and I added a few flowers too.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the gals blogs and say hi!  Join in the fun for your chance to win one of the new WOJ images!!!!

And an early Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Sunday Sketch and Stamp Guest Designer

Good morning!  Hope you have had a fabulous weekend so far!  I spent yesterday at the scrapbook convention with some friends and found some great deals!  What a fun afternoon!!!  I'm sure you'll be seeing my "stash" in the next few days!
Today I have my card for Sunday Sketch and Stamp as Guest Designer!!  I'm so excited to be joining this talented team and to play around their fun sketches!!!  This week's sketch is designed by Ger and it's fantastic!!!  Busy Beauties Boutique is the sponsor this week and they are offering our winner their choice of 5 images from the Boutique. But that's not all, 2 runners-up will also be allowed to pick two images!!  Fun huh??
I decided to use a Magnolia image, well actually 2 images, that my friend Denise stamped for me!  I just loved this swing!!  It reminded me of a fun rope swing my neighbor had when we were growing up.  I colored everything with copics then distressed with inks and scissors.  The paper is basic grey.  I used a little butterfly charm I purchased from Whimsy Stamps and a bunch of fun flowers!  Finally I stitched around the edges and added a SU sentiment.
Be sure to pop over  to Sunday Sketch and stamp to see what the rest of the team did with the sketch and to play along, you have 2 weeks to do so:)
