Happy Monday!

WOW the last Monday of the year!! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday. We went into Christmas with zero expectations since our entire extended family was all without power for so long prior. And it was actually really nice! Everything "Christmassy" we were able to accomplish seemed like a bonus and everything else was very toned down, so very little stress:) Santa left me quite a few gift certificates(hand stamped by my hubby I might add) so I can not wait to spend those!!!
I did find some post season sales at my local craft store and picked up this fabby K&C Company paper along with the jumbo fabric-covered brad. I thought they were buttons at first, but even better, they're brads!!
The layout for this card is from Katharina's sketch challenge. And that super cute seal is one of the new stamps from Whimsy Stamps. I colored him in with my colored pencils and gave him a fun little "ball." I used my 1" circle punch for the base of the ball. Then I tied a smidge of gray taffeta ribbon and added some baja breeze striped ribbon as well. Hopefully I'll have more time this week to catch up on visiting some blogs as things settle down.

Challenge and a RAK

Good evening everyone! I have two cards to post tonight. The first is a challenge card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog and Papertake Weekly challenge. The WOJ challenge was to create a Christmas card without red or green and the papertake challenge was a sketch. I used my new Herb with figgy pudding stamp from WOJ. I think I took quite a few creative liberties with the coloring on both Herb and figgy pudding, but oh well:) The sentiment is from Whimsy stamps. The paper is all SU and is pink pirouette and choc. chip. Herb is colored in with watercolor crayons and an aquapainter.

The second card is a RAK for a family of a brand new baby that needs lots of love and prayers sent her way. Andrea is organizing a card drive to send cards and wishes to baby Francesca and her family. Please visit her blog for details on how you can help. I used Sahara sand and pink pirouette along with my favorite SU stamp set, buggies and booties. Big hugs to Andrea for putting this together and to baby Francesca.

Stamp Something Sketch!!!!

Well hello everyone!!! I've had power for just about a day now(WOOOHOOO) and have finally caught up on laundry, dishes, shoveling and vacuuming etc!
So I found a little time to do my Stamp Something Sample for the week. This week's challenge was sponsored by DRS Stamps. They were super generous and gave the entire DT 2 stamps to play with!!! I had 2 cute little mushrooms and this fun sentiment. Check out stamp something to see what the other gals came up with.
We all used this fabby sketch designed by our own Emily!! I used the DSP and colors from the SU scrappin kit just 4 you. I ran the celery piece through my CB with the tiny bubbles folder. The bashful blue mushroom is stamped in choc. chip on textured bashful blue CS and popped up on dimensionals. Finally I added some chocolate twill ribbon and aged copper brads.
Next on the list is to find sometime to visit everyone out there in blogland and say hello and happy holidays!! Missing ten days 2 weeks before Christmas really puts a kink in well, everything!!
Also, I was supposed to offer up some blog candy from Whimsy stamps last week, but couldn't. SO my blog candy contest will be from Jan 1-8. Check out Hanne and Jeanette's sites for your chance to win some Whimsy rubber until then!
OK I think that's all for now!!

Stamp Something Finally!!

Well I am still without power a week after the ice storm!!! ugghhh Luckily today I am able to connect with the outside world since I was able to visit Denise before the foot of snow arrives tomorrow!!! It is so nice to be able to talk to someone I am not related too!! Ahhhh the joys of winter. Anyway here is my card from last Friday's Stamp Something Challenge. Hopefully I will return to a house with electricity and can stamp for tomorrow's challenge as well. As stamping in a room without heat or light doesn't really make you creative!!
Anyway, here's my moose from whimsy stamps. Iused certainly celery and cranberry crisp. The DSP is holiday thyme. For the gold I added gold cording to the moose's antlers and the package. I also sponged and stamped itty bitty backgrounds behind the moose. The sentiment is from loads of love
Definitely check out the Stamp Something site for your chance to win a Whimsy stamp today and a new goody tomorrow!! Everyone keep fingers crossed for me please!!!

Snowy Friday

Hi All, not snowing here yet(thankfully), but it iS snowing over at Stamp Something! The challenge this week is to stamp something snow related. Well what says snow more than a snow man? This adorable little guy, well maybe girl actually, is from Firecracker Designs by Pamela. Boy or girl I think it's super cute!! I colored in the image with pink pirouette and baja breeze, then added dazzling diamonds to the body and chunky glitter to the hat. You can never have enough sparkle!

Whiff of Christmas

Hello all! Hope you are having a great week so far. I've been busy getting ready for the holidays and and do doing laundry!! Here's a card a made for the Whiff of Joy Challenge, it was based on the sketch they provided. I used Melinda blowing kisses as my image. I changed the sketch a bit, as I do not have circle nesties(yet, if Santa is listening...). I used the urban garden DSP along with kraft, kiwi kiss and red riding hood card stock. I also used some red riding hood satin ribbon. I added stickles to Melinda's wings for a little shimmer. Oh, I also ran the RRH layer through my birds and swirls CB folder.
Check out Katharina's blog for her advent giveaway, there's a prize a day, how fun!!

I'm Back!!

Well, after a week and a half away from my stamps and the blogging scene, I was extra excited for nap time today!! I am looking forward to visiting all of you and seeing what I missed. For my first card back, I chose to use 2 of my new whimsy stamps. If you haven't checked them out yet, head on over, they are releasing 3 fabulous new stamps on 12/5(just in time for Christmas!!) I stamped then duck on the whisper white layer. I then stamped the frog on a separate piece of WW and cut him out. I masked additional cat o nine tails next to him as well. The DSP is from the SU hostess bundle and the other colors are kiwi kiss and pink pirouette. I also broke into my silver hodgepodge. The sentiment is from Best Yet, what a useful little set that is! Well next on my stamping catch up list is the Whimsy Stamp Sketch Challenge over on papercraft planet. Try it out for your chance at a free whimsy stamp!!

Stamp Something for Black Friday

Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving and has plenty of leftovers for sandwiches today!! Well today we're celebrating Black Friday over at Stamp Something. Which is nice because I'm always out of the country today and never get to hit the malls for all the deals (and crowds), so it's nice to celebrate this year by stamping:)
For my black image I chose this super fun penguin from Firecracker Designs by Pamela. I love penguins and think the little snowball bucket is just the cutest so this is the perfect little set for me:) I used bashful blue textured cardstock along with black and whisper white. The penguin is actually holding a pom pom covered in chunky glitter. The background is from itty bitty backgrounds. Finally I added 3 black brads to finish it off. Head on over to see what the rest of the DT came up with for this challenge and play along for your chance to win some yummy calorie free candy from Jessica Lynn Originals!!

First Whimsy Card!!!

Here it is, my first Whimsy Stamps card!! I fell in love with this little guy when Denise showed me the sketch and have been waiting to ink him up for months it seems(and I had to keep him a secret the wholt time too!)!! So I figured since I am only making Christmas cards until I'm done my list, might as well give him a Santa hat:) I used my CB snowflakes on the red riding hood strip, which also qualifies this card for Cute Card Thursday's snow challenge! I prescheduled this post since I'm away from the computer, so I hope that's OK with the challenge!
I also CB the kiwi kiss layer with swiss dots. The DSP is from frosty days and the sentiment is from many merry messages. Denise should be launching the officaial Whimsy stamps site soon, until then, check out her blog for details on her pre-order!

Happy Thanksgiving

That's what we are celebrating today over at Stamp Something! We had to stamp something either for Thanksgiving or just as a way to say thanks for those that do not celebrate Thanksgiving this week. The card I made starts with a chocolate chip base and then a layer of really rust. I then ran a piece of vanilla through my swiss dots folder. I used the rub on's from SU's hostess set and then added a choc. chip satin bow. No stamping at all!!!
Thanksgiving is definately my favorite holiday. Although I rarely make cards or decorate since I'm with my family and not home. So this was a fun one for me to do!
Be sure to check out the rest of the creations from the Stamp Something DT, including our guest designer, Leanne!

Loads of Christmas

Here is another card my daughter and I worked on this weekend It uses Loads of Love. We started with a close to cocoa base. I then CBd then bashful blue layer iwith the snowflakes folder. Then another close to cocoa layer, to which my daughter added some dazzling diamonds. Then a piece of frosty days DSP through a nestie. We then ran a whisper white layer ran through the swiss dots folder. We cut the truck from frosty days as well and added a Kiwi kiss tree. I "tied mine down" with hemp, my daughter didn't, she likes to be dangerous!!! Finally I added some choc. grosgrain. She opted not to as she was on to the next card at that point:)

I believe I'll have a giant announcement tomorrow, so be sure to check back!! it's super exciting!!!

Cold Play Christmas

Hi Everyone and Happy Monday!! Can you believe it's the middle of November already?? WOW! I was lucky enough to have some time this weekend to stamp some Christmas cards with some friends and my daughter while my husband took care of the little one. I'm so close to finishing my cards!! Of course next is writing and mailing etc...
This one uses mostly retired SU products including the set cold play which I think is so cute, dashing DSP and cute converse. I used the same layout I used for a card last week, it was inspired from a layout on the Whiff of Joy challenge blog. The snowman is covered in chunky glitter and looks so sparkly! The real red cardstock is embossed with the CB snowflakes folder. It also qualifies for Cute Card Thursday's red and green challenge! I'll post some of my daughter's cards tomorrow!

Sketch Something Friday!!

Happy Friday All!! That means another Stamp Something Challenge! And this week we are welcoming Queen Kat Designs as our host and sponsor. Here is the fabulous sketch we worked with this week, fun huh?? QKD is celebrating their 2nd anniversary so pop on over to see how they are celebrating!!

Here is my sample.
I used the retired SU set Santa post. When this set came out I HAD to have it. Then once I had it, I had no idea what to do with it!! So there it sat, but I couldn't get rid of it. It's just too cute! So finally I had a sketch that worked perfectly and here we are! I started mounting my piece of DSP for holiday thyme on some bravo burgundy CS and it looked so strange. I then realized it was cranberry crisp, one of the first in colors. Luckily I had 1 sheet left and I ran it through my CB. I also used cranberry crisp stitched ribbon, artichoke grosgrain and hemp. The sentiment is from cute converse, stamped on half of the punch out from the word window punch. The base is kraft. Be sure to check out the rest of the samples from the QKD DT and the Stamp Something DT over at Stamp Something.
Finally, check out our Stamp Something group over on Papercraft Planet and join us over there for fun all week. OK I think that's it!!

Super quick post!

Just did this card for unity hip hop(something clear) over on SCS and for the papertake weekly sketch challenge. But I should be making dinner, or at least a Christmas card, oh well!! Sorry for the dark picture, it gets dark so early now, it really throws off my stamping!!

Christmas Card Crunch!

So I am in full Christmas card mode!! I have one standard card that I am going to do for most people. But I always like to have a couple different cards for my stamper friends and people I know really enjoy "snazzy" cards. Here is one I made today. I combined 2 challenges for this card. The sketch is from Friday sketchers and the theme of "Boy Christmas" is from the Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog. For the WOJ challenge we were not allowed to use blue. So I chose bravo burgundy and always artichoke. The DSP is retired SU. The sentiment is from the SU hostess set, best yet. I colored Charlie using my water color wonder crayons and an aquapainter. There still time to enter Stamp Something's challenge this week, so head on over if you haven't yet.

Also Elaine and Heather both have some super generous blog candy on their blogs(and some amazing cards too!!)!

Whiff of winter

Well it's a bit chilly here today so I decided to do a wintery card for this week's Whiff of Joy Challenge.
I used SU's frosty days DSP along with close to cocoa, kiwi kiss, tangerine tango and shimmery white cardstock. I ran a piece of kiwi through my CB using the snowflakes folder. The sentiment is from fancy flexible phrases and the snowflake is from the SU set, snow burst. I finally added some silver brads and kiwi strioed ribbon.

Single Layer Cards

Happy Friday!!

The challenge of the day over on Stamp Something is to make a single layer card!! Seems easy enough!! I always want to throw an extra layer on though so it was definitely a challenge!! I used whisper white card stock and ran the center of the card through my CB using the snowflakes folder. I then sponged some baja ink lightly over the snowflakes. I then rubbed the snowflakes with versamark and used iridescent ice EP. I sponged baja all along the edges as well. I added some ribbon and a hat pin and the noel sentiment from many merry messages. And done!

There was also a single layer challenge last night at unity's hip hop on SCS. SO I inked up the lipstick in very vanilla craft ink, covered with clear EP and embossed. I scored a line using my scor-pal 1 in from the top and bottom. I used pomegranate ribbon in the top inch and CB swirls in the bottom. Finally I added assorted rhinestone brads to the flower centers.
Pop on over to stamp something to see what the rest of the DT did and to enter to win a t-shirt and 3 stamp sets in our 6month anniversary blowout candy!
