Whiff of Joy Challenge

Hope you are all having a great week so far. I spent yesterday rearranging my craft room and today piking up sticks from the ice storm this winter! I'm still trying to remember where I put everything in here, but managed to sneak in a card. I made this one using the sketch on the Whiff of Joy challenge blog. I received this image in a swap and it was stamped on the thickest paper I've ever used!! It was amazing! I also broke into my new Basic grey urban prairie papers and buttons I ordered from Whimsy Stamps. I colored Melinda with copis and added a simple flower and stems from the SU sizzix dies. I CB the banana layer with floral fantasy.

Thank You

Happy Sunday! It's raining like crazy here, but hopefully it's washing away the rest of the snow. I made this card as a "thank you" for my aunt for watching my girls last night while my hubby and I went out to dinner with friends.
I was super excited to make it because I got to try out a bunch of new goodies. The first is some yummy porcelain basic grey paper and coordinating brads that I ordered from Whimsy stamps. The second is a jumbo grommet I pre-ordered from the SU's occasions mini catalog. I colored Emma using copics according to the copic colour challenge. I used E31 and a bunch of different pinks. I popped up the umbrella on dimensionals. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday, I turned it on it's side.
There is also a funny little detail about this card. While I was uploading the picture, I did a little blurfing and came across Denise's post. We both made thank you cards for our aunts using the same image, sketch, papers and copic colors!!! What are the chances??? Great minds I guess!!!

Lots of stuff for a Saturday

Hope you're all having a great weekend!! I just got home from work and realized I needed to make an Easter card for my niece today so I could give it and some Easter treats to my Brother in law to bring up to her. This is her 1st Easter!! So I decided to use Ellie's sketch and super adorable Rebecca Rabbit stamp to make the card. It also fits in to A spoonful of sugar's Easter challenge and cute card Thursday's all in the family challenge.

I wanted to make a fun and bright card, so I chose these retired polka dots and paisley papers from SU. I paired them with turquoise and kiwi kiss. I colored Rebecca with my copics and gave her a fuzzy tail. I hand wrote the sentiment as my "Easter" sentiment didn't fit the oval punch.

Now onto exciting news.....

Sketch Something:)

It's Friday!!!! We have a sketch today at Stamp Something design by our on super talented Emily!! And we are sponsored by Layers of Colors, big day!!! Check out the amazingly generous blog candy Laura donated!!!
I used my new walk in the park papers and color combo for the sketch. This fun sea horse and coral plant swirls are from the under the sea set by layers of colors. I stamped him in cameo coral, luckily I have the Earth Elements ink spots since I love this color combo but don't have a large coral ink pad as I really have never used it before. I also added some half back pearls and white organza ribbon. Check out the rest of the team's samples, they're fantastic!!!

3 challenges, 1 card

Happy Tuesday, I hope everyone is off to a great week! I had some time today to put this card together to cover 3 challenges!! The first challenge is from sketch Saturday, and it is a sketch. The next challenge was from Whiff of Joy Challenge blog. That challenge was to use green and a WOJ image. I used this new springtime image I received in an image swap!! Finally I used the recipe over at Cute Card Thursday. The challenge there was to rip something(the corners), use two papers(2 styles from Walk in the park) and 4 total embellies(3 dew drops & 1 piece of yummy kiwi satin ribbon). I also used my eyelet SU punch and my copics to complete the card. I added a few layers of Kraft, to the kiwi and DSP.

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all the mums in the UK had a fabulous Mother's Day weekend. We have a little over a month in the US until Mother's Day. So I guess I am well ahead of schedule with this card thanks to the sugar bowl's challenge. It was to create a mother's day card using a sugar nellie image. I received this super adorable image from Denise, THANK YOU!!!!!! I used brand new SU designer paper, walk in the park, from the occasions mini! I love it. I don't think I've ever used cameo coral in the 5 years I've been using SU products but it looks gorgeous with these colors! I also used some of the yummy white organza ribbon and a few items from the pretties kit. The sentiment is from All Year Cheer III. I also used my new fav CB folder, floral fantasy.

Creative Card Crew Challenge

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Nothing is on TV tonight and I finished my latest book so I decided to stamp. I created a card for the Creative Card Crew Challenge. The challenge this week was to creative a card without designer paper (gasp)!! I just got a bunch of new paper but it will have to wait!! I decided to use this adorable image of Emma with her umbrella since she is sweet enough without designer paper! I also used 2 different CB folders(numbers and flower dots). Her umbrella is popped up on dimensionals. I dressed her up with some primas and the stem sizzix from SU. The sentiment is whimsy as well.

New Sarah Kay and fun news!!

I can not believe it is Thursday already, this week has just flown by!!! I was a bit behind on challenges, so I decided to combine a few to catch up. I finally this Sarah Kay stamp, I've had my eye on it for quite awhile! I needed a few other items, so I just had to add it on to my order:)
I started with a sketch from Truly Scrumptious. Then I chose my colors based on the brown + 1(pink) challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge blog. Finally I added some gems to the center of the flowers to finish the truly scrumptious challenge and to qualify for the spoonful of sugar challenge! Whew! I also used my new floral fantasy CB background on the pink pirouette circle, a bit tough to see under the primas, but it goes so well with the Bella Rose DSP from SU! The ribbon is my new favorite, white satin from SU's occasions mini. I colored the image with copics and added some doodles.

Now for the fun news!!!!! Whimsy stamps is now offering Basic Grey papers and embellies!!!! Check out the site for some sneak peeks at spring animals and the yummy goodies now available!
See you tomorrow for a new stamp something challenge!

I made this card using the sketch Ellie from Digital stamp oasis created for her DT call. I used pajama time Emma from Whimsy stamps. This card is currently in the mail to a very special birthday girl who turns 3 today:) The papers are K&Company . I used my copics to color Emma and added some yummy kiwi satin ribbon. I added a pink crystal to the "i" in the sentiment after I photographed the card. But I left my camera at my parents' so I couldn't update it. ooops! Something Green

Happy Friday! Over at Stamp Something we are getting ready for spring and one of my favorite holidays, St. Patty's Day by asking people to stamp green. We are sponsored this week by Rare Image Rubber Stamps. They not only donated a fabulous stamp set for blog candy, but gave one to the DT as well. So check out the samples that use this great garden set. I chose kiwi kiss as my green. I used DSP from urban garden and bella rose. The image and sentiment are Rare Images. The center flower, Hyacinth (I think, I'm not great with flower names), is popped up on dimensionals as is the sentiment. I also used some dew drops and yummy kiwi satin ribbon. Well I'm going to IKEA today, hope I don't leave too much "green" there!!!

Whimsical Wednesday

It is Whimsical Wednesday with Whimsy Stamps over on SNR Card Universe. Denise is hosting a great challenge to use this sketch. So head on over and play along for your chance to win two brand new Whimsy stamps, I don't even have them!!!(yet...)
So I used my delicate dots DSP from SU along with bashful blue and Sahara sand. I also used my 3 for you flower punch to add some banana flowers to this owl's branch. He is colored in with yep, copics! A bit hard to tell in the photo, but the owl is stamped on the white layer, then layered with an additional cut out owl. I wanted to take a close up photo, but my camera was beeping "low battery" at me, so I didn't want to push my luck! I found these flower brads on clearance at Target. Finally I sponged a little bashful blue behind the owl and added a few doodles. The sentiment is Whimsy and is on a dimensional as well.

Quick weekend post

Hello! It was a gorgeous day today! It was wonderful being outside with the girls without coats, hats, boots etc!! Although it means I was cutting into craft time, so I combined some challenges. I took the colors from Whiff of Joy's lavender and lace challenge. The sketch is from the everybody art challenge. I also used some distressing and tearing to cover the ABC challenge as well as the spoonful of sugar challenge. Let me just say that I only had this one piece of purple designer paper from a mat pack, so I was a bit limited. And although I used to tear every card I made, I haven't torn anything in awhile, so I was a bit rusty!!! I colored Willow with my Copics and added some crystal effects to the rain drops. I also used so of Stampin Up's new white organza ribbon. If you don't have it, BUY IT!! It is fabulous!!! The sentiment is the one I've been using a lot lately from Best Yet. Have a great weekend, I'm off to work!!

Favorite Somethings

It's Friday, it's above freezing already and there's a fun new Stamp Something Challenge! What a great day. This week's challenge is create a project using one of your favorite somethings. Something can inspire you, like a movie or song or just use your fav. products.
I did a little of both. One of my favorite things to do with my girls is bake cookies. We bake them for every holiday. Sometimes we just avoid certain cookies that well, were tried before they were cooked......... Willow with cookies is also one of my favorite whiff of joy images, I received a few from Denise(thank you, they're awesome!!!) and knew they'd be perfect. I colored her with Copics, clearly my favorite way to color, and some new copics were used, my favorite thing to buy. The paper is me and my big mouth, which I purchased at my LSS the other day. So head on over to Stamp Something to see the favorites of the rest of the DT. Oh did I mention a NEW Whiff of Joy is up for grabs???????

The colors are basic gray and baja breeze along with DSP from urban garden and ski slope. I added a brad from silver HPH through the baja ribbon (boy can that crop-a-dile cut through stuff!!!) I also used my swirls CB folder. Today the last day to enter the Stamp Something challenge and win a gift certificate to buy this sweet little guy, so be sure to enter! A walrus for you

Happy Tuesday everyone!! I hope you all had a great start to the week!! I'm just waiting for some warm air to come this way, that didn't happen today!
I made this card for the Our creative corner challenge. It was a gorgeous sketch and I had a perfect whimsy image in mind. Well at the end I switched images and paper and hardware, so it's nothing like the card I had set out to create, oh well!! I used the new sale-a-bration DSP from SU. And this cuddly whimsy walrus! The sentiment is from happy everything. I colored this big guy in with copics and added white gel pen accents. I might as well take another entry for cute card Thursday's animal challenge as well.

Bunch o challenges

This weekend I had a few quiet hours to stamp. So I inked up all my Whimsy images to out my copics and went to town. I was able to put this image to use today for a few challenges. I first used the sketch from the truly Scrumptious Challenge blog. And I think this layout is truly scrumptious, I'll definitelty be using it again. I then chose the color combo based on the blue and brown challenge over at colour create. Finally, the them this week over at Cute Card Thursday is animals and well I'm doing my Whimsy Animals DT samples so those go quite well together.
The paper is textured DSP from SU which I LOVE! Then just a felt flower, brad and some grosgrain to finish it off.
