Friday Sketcher's Halloween

Hi Everyone! I'm just finishing up my halloween cards with this one I made using the Friday's sketchers sketch. It uses the first set I bought at my first SU! workshop, sweeter treaters, which I still love. I used the colors in SU's frosty days DSP, tangerino tango, kiwi kiss and close to cocoa. I put my middle pumpkin in an antique brass build a brad. The eyelets are antique brass as well.

Blogaversary blog candy and a challenge card

Well everyone I've been trying to post this blog candy for hours, but we were without power!!! Sometimes it's fun to sit by the fire with cocoa and relax when the power goes out, but with 2 little ones, in the middle of the day with blog candy to post, it's a kick in the pants!!! Anyhow....................it's my 1 year blogaversary, I can't believe it!! I am looking forward to my second year of blogging and hope to continue meeting new blogging friends and seeing amazing creations from everyone I visit already! Blogging really has been such a great escape and support for me this year, so I just want to thank everyone who visits and let you know I'm really grateful to have "met" you all!! {{hugs}} So here's the candy.........
A bunch of DSP from assorted companies, Heidi grace alphabet pins, ribbon, a package of rain drops, 4 spools of ribbon, a clear stamp set and block and lots and lots of images(my favorite kind of blog candy) from Gina K, whiff of joy, Stampin' Up!, layers of color, stamping bella, magnolias and more!!! Want to win??? Just leave a comment on this post with a favorite memory of the last year(stamping related or not) then put a post on your blog about my candy to spread the word!! Pretty easy!!! I'll mail anywhere:) You have until Tues., Nov. 4th to enter. Good Luck!!!!!

Here's a card I did for a Gina K. challenge on SCS. The challenge was to use chipboard on a card. So that little, tiny heart, it's chipboard!!! It uses the set just so hippy. The DSP is from SU. The colors are pink pirouette and kiwi kiss

Stamp something for the birds!

That's the challenge today over at Stamp Something, make anything "for the birds." This week we are sponsored by There she goes stamps a fantastic acrylic stamp company from Jessica Knutsen. Jessica was super generous and donated a brand new stamp set for this week's blog candy so pop on over for your chance to win!! And while you're there check out the DT's fabulous creations!
For this card I used there for you from there she goes. It's a sympathy set, but I chose to use the image for a Christmas card. I inked up the stamp with my old olive and real red markers, then cut it out with my oval nesties. The DSP is from SU's Urban garden. I ran the bottom half of the CS thru my CB with my swiss dots folder. I also used red riding hood for the photo corners. And finally, I added some kiwi kiss striped ribbon and aged brass brads.

You grow girl!!

I made this card for my friend who recently found out she was expecting her second baby!! I used this week's Friday's Sketchers for the layout, it was just what I was looking for! WooHoo!! The DSP is retired SU spring showers. The stamp is pregobella. I colored her in with my watercolor crayons and aquapainter. The sentiment is from retired SU set Swell news, I miss that one!! It's still too early to know if the baby is a boy or girl so I thought the paper was perfect having both bashful blue and blush blossom. The finished size is 4 1/2 in square.

Big Thanks!!!

I have to first give a little background story to why I made this card. Here's the super short version. I ordered a necklace from a Lia Sophia party in May....did not receive the order from the "demo" until September, however she had ordered the bracelet instead of the necklace which is no longer available. So she offered to not charge me the difference for the bracelet!!!!! Now fast forward to last night. I am at work and notice a woman wearing the necklace. So I asked just to confirm it was indeed the necklace and proceeded to tell her my story of woe. Well she was a Lia Sophia demo and gave me the necklace AND matching earrings at the end of the evening, along with her business card and catty!!! Isn't that super sweet, I was floored!!! And talk about fantastic customer service!!! It also confirms that a. there really are nice people and b. you should always have a business card handy!
Anyhow this is a card for her to say thanks for her generosity! The colors are basic gray, baja breeze and not quite navy. The DSP is urban garden, which I love!! And the stamp set is pocket silhouettes. I accessorized with some silver brads and the baja striped ribbon.

**Also, Check out Rach's blog for some yummy candy!!!!**

Stamp Something Sketch

Happy Fall Friday!! What a gorgeous fall day it is here today and it's another day for a stamp something challenge. Today's challenge is a ketch brought to us by super talented Katharina Frei. Not only did she design the sketch, but her company, whiff of joy, is sponsoring the challenge by donating some super yummy blog candy! It's a Melinda stamp, the one my daughter just thinks is the most beautiful girl ever! So pop on over to stamp something and sketch along with us! And if you have a chance, visit Katharina to say "thanks" for her generous donation and awesome sketch!

Well here's a picture of the sketch, super right!!

And here's my sample using the super cute whiff of joy Charlie stamp. I made the design on the kiwi CS using my scor-pal(boy do I love that!!) The rust CS is embossed with my CB stylized flowers folder. The DSP is from the hostess prints pack. I colored in Charlie and his puppy using my colored pencils and blender pen. The sentiment is from cute converse, a retired SU set. Stamped on the ovals I cut with my nesties. Finally I added some copper brads. The autumn colors I used, more mustard, rust and kiwi kiss make this card fit the bill for the whiff of joy challenge blog as well. It also fits the autumn theme over at Cute Card Thursday!!

In other stamping news, we at stamp something are so excited to welcome Lisa Henke to our DT. She is an amazingly talented crafter and we are happy to have her on our team! Check out her blog and say "hello."

Cuttlebug Challenge!

Well I think we all know I LOVE my cuttlebug, so you can imagine how excited I was when I saw the cuttlebug challenge blog. Not that I need an excuse to use my CB, but I'm always up for a good challenge! This week's challenge was to create anything but a card using the CB, of course. So I made a gift tag for a bag of bulbs. The first picture shows the whole gift. And the second is a close up. I first used my swiss dots folder on both the top and bottom of the tag. (the center is plain)
I then used the scribbles flower die to cut out the flowers and a leaf. My final CBing is on the sentiment , where I used my oval nesties in my CB. The top flower has a dew drop in the center and the bottom flower has a rhinestone brad in the center. The colors are whisper white, pink pirouette and mellow moss. I attached the tag with moss taffeta ribbon using a hole I made with my crop-a-dile.

Remember tonight is the last night to enter Stamp Something's drawing for Unity Stamps!!!

It's that time of year....

Well I can not believe it is time to start planning christmas cards!!! I know my time this year for christmas cards is super limited so I hope to get a jump start and come up with a few simple projects. We'll see how I'm doing with that jump start come the end of November!! Here's one I came up with using baroque motifs(I love this set!!). I plan to demo this one at my next workshop on Thursday. I think this set is perfect for a fast and elegant christmas card! The colors are kraft, kiwi kiss, red riding hood and vanilla. I used the chunky sprinkles on this, but after seeing it, I think I'll so the rest in dazzling diamonds. The sentiment is from many merry messages stamped in Red riding hood. I used my kiwi kiss striped ribbon as a finidhing touch! I think it took about 10 minutes or so, if you don't include the drying time for the glue.

I used the unity stamp set Forever friends for this card. The colors are pink pirouette and kraft. I finally received my top notes die, so I HAD to use that!! The DSP is from the hostess pack and I finished it with a flower fusion felt flower and rhinestone brad.

Another Birthday Card

Hello all!! Hope you are having a great week so far! Here is a super quick and easy birthday card I did for my father. I went with a monochromatic green color scheme, since my daughter said it "looked like boyness." I wanted it to be pretty simple, nothing fancy! I used the prints pack hostess DSP. I'm so happy some of the sides are white this year!!! I paper pierced the corner and added some brads and ribbon! Pretty easy!

Have you done your fancy fold yet for Stamp Something this week?? There's so great blog candy up for grabs, so check it out!!

Birthday Challenge

Just wanted to share a quick weekend post with you all. Here is the birthday card I made for my sister. It also falls into the challenge for the ABC challenge blog, which was to create a card with the sketch provided. I altered it a bit, but it's pretty much the same! I then realized it almost qualified for the Whiff of Joy challenge, which was stitching. You had to use a whiff of joy stamp though. So, since I had to make another birthday card for my brother anyhow, I just made the same card with super cute Charlie instead of the Bella.
So 2 cards with one layout. I'm almost finished my week of cards, one more birthday and a new baby card!!

Fancy Folds Challenge

Happy Friday Everyone!! What a fancy challenge we have over at stamp something this week. It's fancy folds!! The amazingly talented Becky hosted this week and wants us all to fold something fancy!!

I decided to do a fancy little 3x3 note card box. A super quick and easy little tank you gift! I used the resources page over at splitcoast and my new Scor-pal and finished in no time at all!

The large polka dot paper is from my scraps and everything else is Stampin' Up! It is hard to see in the photo, but I stamped the edges of the oval with the pocket silhouettes. If I get a chance, I'll upload a close up.
This one just confirms I need the circle nesties!!! So head on over to Stamp something and see what the rest of the DT came up with this week!

Anniversary Card

Happy October Everyone!!!
Today begins a week full of family birthdays and anniversaries. One or two a day through the 6th, super hectic!! Today is my anniversary, so the first card I tackled on my list was an anniversary card for my husband.

I chose to use this fabulous sketch by Katharina of whiff of joy stamps to get me started. The designer paper is from a stash I picked up at my local scrap store, the rest is SU. The large champagne glasses are from the cheers to you set and the small glasses are actually rub-ons from the level 3 hostess set. I colored them in with my watercolor pencils and a blender pen. The sentiment is from HUgs and wishes. I finished it off with some chocolate grosgrain ribbon and a few distressed copped brads. I wanted to add a bit more to it, but decided against it to keep it simple and masculine. Now onto the birthday cards!

I also wanted to include a picture of the roses I got today from my husband.
