Stamp Something

That's the challenge today, simply stamp something!!! And the challenge is sponsored by KIm at My Favorite Things, so 2 MFT sets are up for grabs!!!!
So here's something I stamped. I used sweeter tr eaters, one of my all time favorite set, since I don't own any MFT stamp sets, yet!!! And had another try at those colored pencils!!! Practice, I think, is the key! I broke into my new kiwi kiss striped ribbon too!! The black layer is embossed with my tiny bubbles CB folder. The black cats are punched out with my SU 1" circle punch and mounted on a 1 1/4" black circle. The base of the card is the new in color, tangerine tango, what a great fall color!!
So pop on over to stamp something to check out the rest of the DT's samples!

A challenge and an amazing cause

First I just have to say, I'm an aunt, again!!! WooHoo. Little Lilah Claire came into the world on Sept. 23, giving her mom a hard time already, I might add. But both mom and baby are doing super!!! Her middle name is in honor of my grandmother who passed away from complications related to Alzheimer's.

That is one of the many reasons for this special card. Cammie, from My blog and Gina K designs and an amazingly generous person, is offering blog candy on her blog in honor of her grandmother. Here's what she writes...Because today is World Alzheimer’s Day, I wanted to do something special for another group of people who are affected by this disease---the caregivers. What began as a little idea----totally GREW! My hope was to get a few contributions from some stamping companies so that I would have a very cool prize to give away to one lucky winner who participated. AS you might have heard----the little prize turned into a GINORMOUS one! So many fabulous companies came forward and offered to contribute. I am so thankful to them.
So this one is for the people who took care of my Grammy in Florida, they were definitely angels. And a big thanks to Cammie who is donating her proceeds from the sale of her new stamp set to Alzhemer's research!!

It also qualifies for the first Whiff of Joy challenge. For the challenge, you had to use this particular sketch from the super talented Katharina and one of her gorgeous Whiff of Joy stamps. If you haven't checked out Whiff or Joy yet, pop over. They have an amazing DT and some super blog candy up for grabs as well!!
Just a quick note about the card, this is my first attempt with watercolor pencils. Fun!!

Welcome Baby!!!!

By this time tomorrow, I will have a new neice(#2)!! So I figured I should get the card ready!!!

I used my new favorite combo, really the only combo I've been using lately ooops!!! Pink pirouette and chocolate chip! I used the DSP from SU's hostess set, chocolate grosgrain ribbon, and flower fusion flowers with a rhinestone brad in the center!

The stork is from buggies and booties(retired), boy do I love that set. I used my watercolor crayons to color him in. The sentiment is from warm words. Finally, I used by oval nesties for the ovals. The layout is inspired from a thank you card Denise had on her blog awhile ago, turned and resized.

I plan on writing the name in as well, as soon as they tell me what it is!!!

I used the rock n roll technique with pink pirouette and close to cocoa. I also used my new rectangle nesties which finally arrived!!! And my birds and swirls CB folder. I also used some of my chocolate satin ribbon, boy is that stuff super!! Definitely a quick and easy layout to "mass produce"

Stamp Something Challenge

It's Friday, so it's time for another Stamp Something challenge!! This week 's challenge is hosted by Melissa. She had a fun cherry tote bag as an inspiration piece.
I used the bag layout as the layout for my card along with the 3 main colors.
Isn't this stamp so adorable?? It's another whiff of joy stamp. I didn't fully color her in to keep with the colors from the bag, but I did give her some sparkles on her wings.
The top 3 sections of whisper white are embossed with my birds adn swirls CB folder. The lower section is swiss dots.

Whiff of Joy!!

Well here is my first Whiff of Joy card!! Isn't this image the cutest!!! I received this from my fellow stamping blogger and friend Katharina. Not only is Katharina amazingly talented, she is also the mastermind behind whiff of joy stamps, so check out her blog and her store to see what she and her fantastic DT created. Thank You Katharina!!

For the base of the card I used sahara sand. I then ran my baja blue through my CB with the snowflake folder. I sponged the image in baja blue then coverd the snowballs and ground with stickles. I also got to use my new baja striped ribbon and some hodgepodge! The sentiment is from short and sweet.

Stamp Something Friday

It's Friday already so it's time for another Stamp Something Challenge. This week the super talented Alex is hosting the challenge. She chose the theme of fall somethings...anything that reminds you of fall.
Normally when I need to make a fall card I reach for loads of love, there's just something about that truck!!! But this time I decided to ink up the new SU set, seasonal icons (it's a level 3 hostess set). I used the baby wipe technique with so saffron, old olive and red riding hood reinkers to make the leaves. I punch them out with my 1in circle punch and layered on a 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 circle. I ran a portion of the saffron layer through my CB using the foldre birds and swirls. It's a bit tricky to see in the photo but the stip is about 1 1/2in wide. I then, in honor of Alex, broke out my jumbo eyelets. And added some cranberry crisp stitched ribbon since I'm still waiting for my riding hood ribbon. Not a bad match.
I'm still working on my sale list, I have loads of stuff!!! So keep checking back!
Oh and don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's samples, they rock!

Thank you notes

I had to make a bunch of thank you notes to mail out to some friends and family. So this is what I came up with. Between the scallop edge punch and the fresh cut notes, this card came together in no time at all!! I stamped the large stamp from fresh cuts in close to cocoa on pink pirouette. Then added a pink and cocoa flower I punched from the spring bouquet punch with a silver brad, tied on some chocolate poly twill. And that was pretty much it! Both sides of the inside of the card are lined with pink pirouette. I wrote out the cards before photographing or I would have photoed the inside as well, it looks cute:)

Remember today's the last day to enter Stamp Something's back to school challenge to be entered for some yummy blog candy!!!
