Whimsy Sneak peeks, a challenge card and more!!!

I was going to post his tomorrow but we are leaving bright and early for Connecticut, so now it is then!

The first bit of info is about the new releases from Whimsy Stamps!! They are fantastic!!! I just got mine today and can not wait to ink them up!!! Want to win your own?? Visit Denise for more details! You can visit Whimsy Stamps now to buy your own. Be sure to check out the links to the sneak peeks on the rest of the DT's blogs.
Next is a card I made for a few challenges. The first challenge is sketch and stash, where they had this fun sketch to use. I used this designer paper from a really old scrappin' kit from SU. I don't remember the name though. I paired it with Pacific Point and regal rose card stock. A little brighter combo that I am used to! The image is mermaid Emma from Fred She said Digi stamps(love these). I used a bunch of flowers and there are flowers on the paper to qualify for the Creative Card crew's pretty flowers challenge. Then I added a bunch of adhesive rhinestones for some gems for Cute Card Thursday. A spoonful of sugar's challenge this week was to use lace, the lace punch was OK for those of us who are out of lace! So I used my punch twice:)

I also have some exciting news that I have to keep quiet until tomorrow....there's a hint in the post though!!! (any guesses???)

Welcome Baby

Friday's here!! Yippie!! No Stamp Something challenge today though as we are finalizing our picks for the new DT members. The blog candy draw is in a week, so there's still time to enter that!!
This card is for a friend of mine that just had a baby boy. I used the sketch from Moonlight madness and kept it simple. The Whiff of Joy Challenge this week was to use blue and brown. That was a perfect theme for these fabulous Parisian Breeze papers from SU! I will be sad when these are gone!!!
Finally the theme of new baby works for the secret crafter Saturday challenge of new beginnings.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are going to visit other friends that just had their baby! Busy baby month!

Whimsy Stamps Sneak Peek!!

Well it's a cold and wet Wednesday here, a perfect day for stamping! Today I have a card using one of Whimsy Stamps new releases!! This little guy and his adorable friends(trust me they're super cute too!!!) will be available June 1st. The Whimsy DT will be creating sneak peeks all week, so make sure to check out their blogs too for the two other animal stamps and a new Connor and Emma as well!!
When Denise said the next release was "wild whimsy animals" I knew I had to get this safari kids mat stack from DCWV. The paper is super thick and sparkly and is perfect for these images! I stamped the lion once, then popped his head and tail on dimensionals. The sentiment is Whimsy as well. The buttons are from my stash from the convention. I also used the sketch from this week's Sketch Saturday to make the card.

Cupcake Challenge 41-Happy 2nd Birthday!!

It was my turn to come up with a challenge over at Cupcake Craft today. Since it is my daughter's 2nd birthday today(WOW!!) I wanted to do something to celebrate her day. SO I came up with a challenge all about 2's!! The challenge is to create a card with 2 colors, 2 shapes and 2 ribbons, all her favorite things!!!
Here's the card I created for the challenge and her birthday:) I used kiwi kiss and pink pirouette as my 2 colors. I used squares and circles as my 2 shapes. Finally I used kiwi kiss satin and pink pirouette striped ribbon as my 2 ribbons. This adorable mermaid is from Fred she said. I colored her hair red, since my daughter is a redhead. And covered her hairclip and fins with stickles!
Finally Happy Memorial Day to everyone here in the states. Hope you're having a fun and safe weekend!

Sketch Something:)

Happy Friday!!
What a gorgeous day it is here! So this will be a quick post so I can get right back outside! This week at Stamp Something we are saying good bye to Emily! She is the mastermind behind most of the sketches at SS so we decided to do a sketch challenge to honor her. I used this super sweet gorjuss girl I received from Super sweet Marcea! Thanks hun! I also used my fav paper, SU Parisian breeze. Have a great holiday weekend!

My Blinged Thing....

Here it is Wednesday already! Can't believe how fast this week is going. Or that tomorrow I have a kindergarten appointment for my daughter, where does the time go????
Well onto the card....This month Whimsy Stamps is the sponsor over at Cafe Mojo and they are asking us to bling our things! So here's my blingin' card:) The paper is from a glitter mat stack, it's hard to see in this picture(which is super crappy, I'll try for a better one in a bit, sorry!) So it blings and also qualifies for the Secret Crafter Saturday Glitter Challenge! The super cute letters from the whimsy mice are all blinged up with fine cosmo glitter, and are perfect(along with the paper) for Cute Card Thursday's letter and numbers challenge! Lili of the valley wants to see some pink, green and blue, so here it is in super bright form!!! The sketch is from sketch Saturday. Whimsy Stamps is also hosting A spoonful of Sugar's celebration challenge and what is better to celebrate than love...... That's it for now! Be sure to check out those challenges for your chance to win some Whimsy Stamps or head on over to their site and shop around:) Boy did spell check just light up with all that bling talk!!!

A few challenges and some EXCITING news!!

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic start to your week! I'm still plugging away at the "thank you" notes on my list. Here's the one I came up with today. I colored this adorable image for Sugar Nellie that my friend Denise was kind enough to share with me!! Thanks Denise!!! The sketch is from Friday's Sketchers, I thought it worked perfectly with this rather large image. I used celery, regal rose and bashful blue to fit in with the Our Creative corner AND Lili of the valley challenges! You have to love when that happens!! I used this super cute and springy designer paper from TPC Studios along with some new primas from the convention(did I mention we hit the jackpot there??) to meet the spring flowers challenge over on Cute Daisy May.

Now for the news.........last week I took a chance and it paid off!!! I decided to enter for a DT spot for a new challenge blog...and I made it. This isn't just any challenge blog though, it's a stamping AND scrapping challenge blog.....Scrap and Stamp Saturday! I love scrapping but don't get to it often enough so this will be a great chance for me to get back into it and to learn some techniques from the amazingly talented scrappers on the team with me!! Check out my sidebar for the links to all theses ladies! Our first challenge will take place on June 6th!!!

Digital Tuesday Challenge

Well it was downright chilly today! So I was able to get a little extra stamping time in today. I wanted to use some new goodies from the convention on Saturday and take part in the Digital Tuesday Challenge. The challenge was non-traditional folds, so I did a gate fold, nothing crazy but different! So here's what I came up with! I used this super adorable image from Digital Stamp Oasis. I sponged some green around him to give it the look of trees, didn't really come out as I had wanted, But oh well! The designer paper I got at the convention for a steal along with most of those buttons! The rest are Basic Grey which I bought through Whimsy Stamps. The sentiment is Whimsy as well! The rest of the ribbon and card stock are SU. This also qualifies for the spoonful of sugar's Buttons Galore challenge!

Cupcake Craft Challenge #40

Hope you all had a great weekend! We did here! I spent Saturday with some friends at the CKC Scrapbooking Convention where we cleaned up! Then on Sunday we were able, thanks to some help from some amazing friends, build the swing set! I think my girls would have spent the night out there if I let them!

That brings us to Monday and this fabulous sketch challenge issued by Donna over at Cupcake! Here's my take on this great sketch! I used my new WOJ image from the summer kit which came over the weekend. The papers are from SU as is the sentiment, ribbons and button. Be sure to check out the rest of the DTs samples and if you can, play along!
BLOG CANDY ALERT!!!!! Check out Denise blog to win some yummy candy including a 15$ gift certificate to Whimsy Stamps and some yummy Basic Grey papers!!! While you're there, wish her a very Happy Birthday:)

A CAS CASE!

How fun is that! Today on Stamp Something we are making clean and simple(CAS) thank you cards, inspired by our very own Lauren who will be leaving us at the end of the month. Lauren always has fabulous CAS cards, so it was fun to be able to use one of her great ideas! I always struggle with this kind of card!
Here's what I came up with based on THIS CARD by Lauren. I rotated the card, used pink and brown changed the ribbon a bit and used a different approach to the sentiment. The set is from Papertrey. My friend is having a baby any day now, so I thought these were super cute and quick to whip up as part of her welcome baby gift. I used candy lane paper for the elephant, although the floral design is so faint, I couldn't get it to show in the photo. Have a great week, I'll be building a swing set, so I'll see you all Monday! Be sure to head over to Stamp Something to see the rest of the DT's work and to try out for our design team.

Birthday Thank You

Hi everyone! Here's the card I have for you all for today. It's a thank you card for my daughter to use for her birthday thank you's. I used Rainy Day Emma from Whimsy Stamps. I used cutie pie papers which I then colored with copics for her umbrella and popped t up on dimensionals. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers. I used a bunch of flowers to qualify for the Whimsy Stamps Challenge (pop on over to try to win some Whimsy Stamps for yourself.) I also added some buttons and button brads for the buttons galore challenge over at A spoonful of sugar. Finally as a thank you card, it also qualifies for stamp with us.

Wish Big!

Hope you are all having a great start to the week! May is a crazy card month for me. We have tons of family and friends birthdays, plus thank you cards from the girls' birthdays and now this year we have quite a few new baby cards as well! So I have to get stamping! I made this card today for an upcoming birthday. The sketch is from a new challenge blog Moonlight Madness. There are a ton of sketch challenges this week, which are really helping me crank out all the cards I need!
I loved this sketch and thought it would work perfectly with my new sugar nellie! The papers are basic grey which I got through Whimsy stamps along with the basic grey brad, check out the rest of the BG stuff and fun rubber stamps Denise has at Whimsy, you'll love them! The sentiment is SU as is the ribbon, button and card stock. I also put her little butterfly in a build a brad. I also entered this card at Cute Card Thursday, because what is happier mail than a birthday card. Well until you're 30 anyhow!!!

2nd post of the day!!!!

Yep, that's right, my second post of the day! I wanted to make sure I got my entry for the Digital Tuesday challenge in this week and today was the last day! While I was at it, I figured why not hit a couple other challenges as well. So I have the teacher theme from digital Tuesday and the thanks theme from Stamp with us, which is great since that will be one less thing I'll need to worry about around graduation! I used the colors of light blue, dark blue, green and white from the pink elephant challenge. This fun sketch is from Cute Daisy May challenges. I changed the square to a circle though. Finally, I used a ton of brads to qualify for the Secret crafter Saturday challenge! Both the image and sentiment are from Digital Stamp Oasis. All the papers are SU and I colored her in with my Copics.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #39

It's Monday so it's time for another cupcake craft challenge! This weeks challenge was set by Denise:
"For my challenge I would like 'a card for a man or boy' - only because everyone dislikes making this type of card so much LOL! It's so easy to make a card for a woman or girl as the embellishments at our disposal are vast but for those tricky men it's not so simple. Definitely what I would call a challenge! I can't wait to see your creations. "

Denise is right, boy cards are always tricky, and I always end up trying to convince myself that "it's a manly flower":)

Today I used my Whimsy Frog along with some yummy papers from TPC Studio! The brads are from my stash of clearance goodies from the other day. The sentiment is a rub-on from SU. The colors are taken with teal (a color I almost never use) and old olive. Head on over to CCC see what the rest of the DT has created! The sketch is from this week's sketch Saturday!!

Pink Birthday Somethings

Another happy/sad challenge day over at Stamp Something! We have a fabulous challenge with a yummy prize pack up for grabs, but unfortunately we are saying goodbye to Melissa this week. The team and I will certainly miss her! It was great getting to know her this year and seeing all her hard work for the challenges!

I chose to CASE this card of hers that she made for the yellow, green and blue challenge! She used the super cute Whimsy turtle, which if you're looking for some new, free Whimsy Rubber, check out their challenge blog.

I chose to use part Sammy from Digital Stamp Oasis. I added a bunch of pink, Melissa's favorite color and the second part of the challenge, to my card. The brad is from K&Company and the sentiment is SU!
So head on over to Stamp Something to check out the rest of the DT's work, try for some blog candy and enter to be part of our DT!!! That's right! We are looking for 4 new design team members, so if you like to stamp something, go ahead and try out!

New stuff!!!!

I mentioned the other day I hit a great clearance sale at Michael's, and here are some of my new goodies!!!! I'm a bit behind on posting this week since I've been making some scrap pages for my niece, I may post some of those once I'm done. So I combined a ton of challenges to catch up!
The first is the sketch from Whiff of Joy Challenge this week. It worked well with this great WOJ image I received in a swap. I used the colors from the color challenge issued by copic colour challenge. They asked to use R02 (I used R00 and R04), E33 and E57(2 of my favs). This is a happy Mother's day card to make my sister's day since it is her first mother's day. So that takes care of the Dutch Dare Mother's Day challenge and the Cute Card Thursday Happy mail challenge! I found these white flowers with glitter on them on sale so I used those along with textured blush blossom card stock and a super smooth button to qualify for A spoonful of sugar's touchy feely challenge. The flowers are great, it's like they have that chunky sugar on them!! Finally I used my new clearance sizzlet to emboss this flower with butterfly and my CB swiss dots to add some embossing for the creative card crew's challenge!! Phew! Also the papers and edging punch are Martha Stewart.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #9-Men

Well it's a cold, rainy raw day here! Perfect day for stamping, unfortunately errands and an anti-nap toddler got in the way of that!! I did however clean up at Michael's today, they had a ton of stuff (paper, ribbon, brads, Martha Stewart!!!!) on clearance, so I can't wait to play with that. It's supposed to rain tomorrow as well, so we'll see!!
I did this card for the sugar bowl's men challenge. I received this image in a swap so I colored him with my Copics. I had some Parisian breeze papers out from my last card so I put those scraps to work!! Pretty straightforward card, since I was a bit pressed for time!

Cupcake Craft Challenge #38 Numbers

Great challenge over on CCC today issued by fellow DT member Claire....My names Claire, better known as CraftyC and this week I would like to Numbers on your card/project. This could be done using papers, calenders, die cuts or just added in your text. I cant wait to see what you create and hope you have fun with my challenge.
I chose to use this fun did image from Doodle Palace. The paper is from a pack I bought at my LSS. I also used the numbers CB folder on bashful blue card stock. I added some chunky glitter to the adorable little sheep and popped the monkey and bird up on dimensionals.

Whimsy on Sketch Saturday

It's the weekend and a beautiful one at that!! Denise, the owner of Whimsy stamps, is sponsoring this week's challenge on Sketch Saturday and has provided some yummy candy there as well!! This is the whimsy card I made for the sketch. I used the whimsy lamb, love this little guy!!! Along with my fav SU papers of the moment, Parisian breeze. This card also fits in with Everybody Art challenge where the theme is animals. The daring cardmakers challenges is farm animals, so that worked out well! The challenge at Charisma Cardz is thank you, that's on the inside of this one, which of course I already wrote in!!! And finally the secret crafter Saturday challenge of flowers, I have paper flower, felt flowers, flower brads and flower buttons, so I think I covered that one!!! I just love combining challenges!!!!

Stamp Something for Mom

It's May, can you believe it!! I'm looking forward to some great stamping and fun times outside this month! Today the fun begins over at Stamp Something! We are starting our month long blogaversary celebration!!! We have been doing these challenges and loving every minute of it for a year now and have some great ways to celebrate!
This week we are CASEing one if Cindy's old Stamp Something samples to spotlight Cindy and say bye. Because Cindy and 4 other DT members are leaving, we are looking for 4 new members to join us! So head on over there for all the details. Or you can just play along for your chance to win 15$ in Stampin Up goodies!!! Luckily Cindy is with us thru the end of the month, we'll miss her tons once she's gone!
I chose to CASE Cindy's card from our December 12th red, green and gold challenge. I used pink green and yellow to make the card a little more "springy" though. And I used this fabulous gorgeous girl!!! She is sitting on some kiwi satin ribbon. The papers are SU. You can see the rest of the CASEs here!
